三叶草属(Trifolinm L.)又名车轴草属,为豆科牧草分布最广的一个属。该属约有250个种,在农业上利用价值较高的约25种,目前国内外普遍栽培的有红三叶和白三叶。红、白三叶草广泛分布于温带及亚热带高海拔地区,我国东北、华北、西北、华中、西南等地均有分布。由于该草种产量高、品质优良,各种家畜均喜食,在放牧草地上,既可以提供优质饲草,又可在土壤中固氮,每年可向草地提供400kg/公顷的氮素。如果把苜蓿称作“牧草之王”,那么三叶草就是牧草中的皇后了。 Trifolium (Trifolinm L.), also known as Trifolium, is the most widely distributed legume forage genus.
