At the beginning of the 21st century, a view emerged in the Japanese academic community that the stone seals from the Kamakura period in Kamakura originated from the stone-built Baozang Incan towers built in Quanzhou, Fujian Province during the Song Dynasty. It did not originate from the stone-built Baoyin Indo-Pagoda built in Quanzhou, Fujian Province during the Song dynasty.
