本研究以 Engle,Cantor & Carullo(1992)提出的通用容量工作记忆模型为基础,采用运算广度的工作记忆测试任务,探索工作记忆和二语词汇知识水平的相关性。结果显示词汇知识水平高分组的平均工作记忆广度要略低于词汇知识水平低分组的平均工作记忆广度;但两组分数没有显著性的差异。在两个二语词汇水平组中,工作记忆广度与二语词汇知识之间没有显著性的相关。实验结果或许可以说明二语词汇知识的发展不直接受学习者工作记忆广度的约束,同时也支持了 Conway & Engle(1994)的观点——工作记忆的个体差异只有在需要强制注意的加工任务中才得以表现。
Based on the generalized working memory model proposed by Engle, Cantor & Carullo (1992), this study uses the working memory test task to explore the correlation between working memory and L2 vocabulary knowledge. The results showed that the breadth of the average working memory of the high score group of vocabulary knowledge was slightly lower than the average working memory breadth of the low score group of vocabulary knowledge. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups. In the two L2 vocabulary level groups, there was no significant correlation between working memory breadth and L2 vocabulary knowledge. The experimental results may indicate that the development of L2 vocabulary knowledge is not directly constrained by learners’ working memory breadth, but also supports Conway & Engle’s (1994) view that individual differences in working memory only occur in processing tasks that require forced attention To be able to show.
