In 2000, China’s mainland stone imports totaled 1,738,607 tons, with a foreign exchange amount of US$400,307,983. Among them, Guangdong and Fujian provinces accounted for 66.6% of their total amount according to the amount of foreign exchange used for imports. See the attached table for details. Because Taiwan Province did not obtain detailed information, it was not counted. The other major statistics are as follows: Shandong Province: 49,897 tons of imported stone, US$9,507,397 in USD; Zhejiang Province: 12,602 tons of imported stone, 4,129 in exchange.
