在河流的交汇处,人们总能看到让人心思忧郁的奇特壮观。在合江门处,长江和它的支流岷江以及分别来自金沙江和金河的浩荡水流汇合。宜宾政府也以不同的形式纪念这三条伟大的河流。他们做了一个垂直的静态雕塑画,从下到上,标记了从上海到宜宾的这段河流。沿着台阶拾级而上,通过文字说明,人们可以看到沿途每一个重要的口岸,以及与其贸易史和河道规模有关的不同数据。在模仿竹简的花岗岩卷轴上,雕刻着四川著名剧作家魏明伦的诗句,使这里更加熠熠生辉。他的《宜宾赋》韵文开篇如下:
At the confluence of rivers, people can always see the peculiar spectacle of melancholy. At Hejiang Gate, the Yangtze River converges with its tributary Minjiang River and the mighty currents from the Jinsha River and the Gold River respectively. The Yibin government also commemorates these three great rivers in different forms. They made a vertical static sculpture, from bottom to top, marking the river from Shanghai to Yibin. Step by step along the steps, with textual descriptions, one can see every important port along the way, as well as different data relating to its trade history and the size of the river. On the granite scrolls imitating bamboo slips, the verses of Wei Minglun, a famous Sichuan dramatist, are carved to make the place even more sparkling. His “Yibin Fu” verse opens as follows:
