The effect of cavity length, perforation rate and aperture of acoustic resonator on the noise and aerodynamic performance of fan is studied experimentally and systematically for a practical centrifugal fan. An analytical model is also proposed to establish the relationship between the resonant frequency and the resonator geometry parameters, as evidenced by some of the existing experimental results.
