I. Background and Theory The concept of minimalism or low-mindedism is closely related to the minimum art trend in contemporary art. This genre originated from the radical streamlining and abstraction of international pure style by a group of radical interior designers in the early 1960s. The minimum art claims that “presenting one thing without personality is more than telling the author’s strong personality with a traditional sense.” It excludes the reproduction of natural figurative art, and it is a simple, single geometric form or a continuous repetition of several single bodies. The minimum art advocates that a thing has its inherent truth and beauty. Only by minimizing the subjectiveness of the individual, the thing itself will complain about its own voice.
