罗兰·艾默里奇和他的灾难电影
罗兰·艾默里奇(Roland Emmerich)1955年生于德国斯图加特市,从慕尼黑影视学院毕业后,先后在德国和美国从事导演、编剧和制片工作。他最热衷于拍摄灾难电影,并在好莱坞实现了自己的理想和愿望。1996年导演的《独立日》、2004年导演的《后天》以及2009年导演的《2012》在当年都引起了轰动并在票房上获得成功。在接受《A日美国》(USA Today)采访时,艾默里奇说,这是他最后一部灾难电影,也是所有灾难电影的终结者:

《2012》的故事情节
剧情上,本片基本上分两条线索:一条是地质学家阿德里安·赫尔姆斯利博士(Dr,Adrian Helmsley)(通过一名印度科学家的观测)率先发现了太阳导致地球内核变热的现象,并向美国政府报告。美国政府一方面对公众隐瞒这一地球将遭毁灭的消息,一方面与G8峰会的其他大国分享秘密,并联手在中国青藏高原地区秘密修建“诺亚方舟”,一个国家一艘。这些国家的政府还联手封锁消息,凡是知晓秘密的人都受到严密监控,凡是意图向大众透露秘密的人都会被暗杀。为了筹措建造方舟所需的巨额资金,大国领袖们还决定向有钱人出售登舟门票——每张高达l亿欧元。这样,除了各国政要、繁衍物种所需的优选人类和动植物,容量所限的40万人逃生名单中也不乏这样的亿万富翁。
另一条线索是科幻作家杰克逊·柯蒂斯(Jackson Curtis)带着孩子去黄石国家公园度假,却发现曾有美好回忆的湖泊已经干涸了,而这个地区也成为了禁区。充满疑惑的他在黄石公园附近的营地偶然认识了通过自己的私人电台向美国人布道并宣称世界末日来临的狂人查理(Charlie Frost)。查理告诉他由于自然环境和资源长期被人类掠夺性破坏,地球自身的平衡系统已经濒于崩溃,人类即将面临空前的自然灾害。查理说有些国家已经在联合秘密研制并建造可以躲避这场灾难的方舟,只是这些国家的领导人将众人蒙在鼓里。杰克逊以为他是个疯子就一笑了之地离开了。
没想到,第二天灾难果然发生了。强烈的地震伴随着火山喷发,让眼前熟悉的家园变成了_人间地狱。在地球的其他地方,各种各样的自然灾害也前所未有地大规模爆发。杰克逊一家和众多家庭一样踏上了求生之路。面对全球性的自然灾害,不知何去何从的他突然想起查理提到过的方舟和地图,于是决定前往方舟基地寻找生存的机会。
杰克逊一家在经历生死考验之后终于到达了方舟基地——青藏高原。然而已经制造完成的方舟数量远远不能满足从世界各地闻讯涌来的受灾人群。
谁去谁留已然成为挑战整个人类的道德抉择。面对灾难,来自不同国家的人作出了最重要的抉择:“所有人都是平等的,都有平等的生存机会!”最后人类终于在方舟中躲过了这一全球性的灾害,获得了继续繁衍和发展的希望。
影片折射出的西方意识形态
1 原罪与世界末日(originaI Sin and Doomsday)
虽然电影名称来源于玛雅人的日历神话,2012年的末世论实际上是一种西方思想,并非玛雅人所创。电影只是借用玛雅人日历的传说。玛雅日历每隔5125年就进行一次新的循环,而旧历结束的日子是2012年12月21日,这一天会出现翻天覆地的事件。实际上,世纪末与末日审判的概念来源于基督教。在《圣经》的记载中,上帝创造了世界和世间一切生物,人类始祖亚当与夏娃因偷吃苹果被生气的上帝逐出了伊甸园。后来人类的胡作非为触怒了_上帝。他以横扫一切的洪水给人类以灭顶之灾的惩罚。只有好人诺亚听从上帝事先的指示建造了方舟才使其一家和动植物延续下来。关于这段情节,《圣经,创世记》(Genesis)记述道:

在欧美历史上,宗教在国家与个人生活中曾占最重要的地位,尤其是在中世纪(约公元500年~1500年)。这反映在欧洲诸国政教合一的政治制度以及人们礼拜上帝的习俗上。在任何一个村镇或城市,最富丽堂皇的建筑就是教堂。然而,自文艺复兴以来,宗教与上帝的地位受到科学的不断挑战,哥白尼、伽利略、布鲁诺等都是站在科学一边与罗马教廷斗争的。斗争的结果世人皆知:科学占了上风,上帝退居次席。
