After World War II, Japan, at its amazing speed, soon built itself upon the ruins of the war as a blighted economic power of all countries in the world. Economists are deeply interested in the reasons behind the move. Some people have discussed the secret of Japan’s development from an economic policy point of view, while others have made some suggestions from the perspective of restructuring of the world economy and the support of U.S. interests. However, more people find that Japanese culture plays an important role in its economic development. Compared with Asians, the West, especially Americans, pay more attention to this point. Japan has become the strongest competitor for the United States in the world market and the United States has started to pay attention to the study of “oriental culture” from both the ruling and opposition levels.
