Not all of the military’s robotics research is devoted to creating ruthless killer machines, some of which are meant to heal them, just as the Navy plans to develop medical robots that provide treatment for the unmanned aircraft transporting the wounded. The U.S. Naval Research Agency recently announced that it will seek to create a medical robot called Autonomous First Aid System (ACCS). The initial mission of the system was to monitor the vital signs of critically ill patients.
