物理层是OSI参考模型的最底层,是整个网络的基础。它所涉及的技术范围很广。根据OSI参考模型的定义,物理层的功能是:“为在链路实体间传送bit流而对物理连接的接通、维持和拆除,提供机械、电气、功能和规程方面的方法”。 这表明,物理层技术主要涉及信号传输、传输介质及信道接口等方面的问题。
