Optical tag switching is a new optical switching technology that can effectively overcome the electronic bottleneck in optical switching.The key of this technology is the generation and extraction of optical tag.Optical microwave subcarrier multiplexing system is a combination of microwave and optical communication technology Communication networks, this paper presents a new method of optical tagging using optical microwave subcarrier technology. The principle of generation, extraction and recognition of this optical tag is described. The advantages of this method and the further research are analyzed.
