The balance of glenohumeral flexibility and stability is determined by the interaction of a series of kinetic and statically stable factors. Neer and Foster proposed a discussion of the stability of the glenohumeral joint in 1980 and found that the gyrus muscle space (RI) between the supraspinatus and subscapular muscles has important clinical implications. The upper glenohumeral ligament (SGHL) and the colarobular ligament (CHL) play antagonistic roles in the glenohumeral joint downward, posterior translation, and external rotation.
