我今年已64岁,仍能保持健壮的体魄,多有赖于小小的乒乓球。但我幼年多病,曾得过胸膜炎、重症红白痢疾等。12岁以后,虽然由于有了一些体育锻炼,身体逐渐有所好转,但迄止60年代初的困难时期,由于身体素质并未得到根本提高,加上营养也较差,我又得了浸润性肺结核、过敏性荨麻疹和神经衰弱性失眠等症。但我没有向病魔低头,而决心向它积极抗争。正是从那时起,我利用每天午休一个多小时,定时或周期性地(每周二、三次,每次二、三小时)打乒乓球,从此三十年来从未间断。经过这样经久不息的运动锻炼,奇迹终于出现了:我不仅战胜了各种疾病的侵袭,而且我的体质也得到了脱胎换骨的改造。具体地说:它帮助我战胜了袭来的种种疾病。尽管60年代初的困难时期,我的饮食营养很差,很少吃肉、奶、糖、豆等滋补品,但仅仅过了三、四年,通过以乒乓球为主的业余运动锻炼,我的肺结核不但完全
