Whether in China or abroad, whenever people hear the melody of the song “Three Disciplines and Eight Attention”, they always associate the song with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army led by the Chinese Communist Party. For half a century, this song, accompanied by the battle of the People’s Army, has almost become the music image of the People’s Liberation Army. During the Anti-Japanese War, the masses in the enemy’s guerrilla zones often discerned whether it was the Eighth Route Army or the Kuomintang army by virtue of whether they would sing the song. However, if you look closely, you will find that in almost all the song versions, there is no songwriter for the song, only “Red Army Songs.” The birth, development and changes of this famous military song are in fact the epitome of Chinese history in more than a century.
