在高中第二册物理的課本中,只讲到了固体的綫膨胀、体膨胀以及它們之間的关系。但是,生产技术上却往往也要求知道固体的面膨胀的知識,例如要求知道工作时的汽缸、活塞如何变化,活塞的表面膨胀是否与汽缸壁的膨胀一样等等。显然,固体的面膨胀也与綫膨胀有关。下面将推导这一关系。为推导便利起見,現以F与α分别表示固体的面膨胀系数与綫膨胀系数。
