据中国科技信息研究所2001年1月出版的《中国科技期刊引证报告（扩刊版）》上公布的数据表明,《石油地球物理勘探》自1966年创刊以来所发表的论文中,被1999年全国2804种自然科学学术类和技术类刊物（约占当年这两类刊物的90％）共引用了210次,在当年这些科技期刊中名列第501位,而在其中的68种“能源”类专业期刊中名列第7位。
