During the Pan-African orogeny, a continental-scale shear zone system occurred in Borborema, northeastern Brazil. The system includes a ductile strike-slip shear zone that goes to the NE and to the EW. Remote sensing and tectonic mapping have revealed this arcuate network strike-slip shear band, separated from the S-shaped lens body of undeformed material and located at the western end of the Patos shear band towards EW, which Is one of the largest shear zones in the area. This imbricate shear zone structure was originally formed under high temperature deformation conditions. It can be interpreted as a ductile slippery dual body that represents the kinematic style of strain adjustment that responds to the bending of a giant ductile shear band
