本文对山西有史料记载以来的强震和有仪器记录的三级以上的地震活动,进行了较系统的研研和分析,认为山西地震的震中分布具有区域的稳定性,但震源深度变化较大;在时间进程上有高潮期和平静期之分,在同一活动期内其活动频度和强度又有高低相间的起伏变化。地震序列以主震型和震群型为主,但各区域有着明显的差别。根据宏观资料,极震区等震线长轴方向分布很有规律,同微观资料震源机制解有明显的一致性,说明山西历史强震和现代地震活动是在同一基本应力场作用下发生的,在较长的地质时期具有一定的继承性。由此推断今后山西发生强破坏性地震,仍可能是在此应力场作用下,沿着北北东或北东东最大剪切应力方向上发生。

It shows that the historical strong earthquakes in Shanxi and the modern earthquakes occur under the same basic stress field, In a longer geological period has a certain degree of succession. It can be inferred that strong destructive earthquakes in Shanxi may still occur along the direction of the maximum shear stress in the NE, NE or NE under the action of this stress field.
