1. Potassium permanganate is dissolved in water in a test tube containing a small amount of distilled water, and a potassium permanganate crystal is placed along the inner wall of the test tube. It can be immediately seen that the liquid at the bottom of the test tube turns from colorless to red, and the red color gradually spreads upward. Finally, the liquid in the test tube shows a single color, red. This shows that the dissolution process is the diffusion of solute ions (or molecules) into water. 2. Anhydrous copper sulphate is dissolved in water. In a test tube containing a small amount of distilled water, a small amount of anhydrous copper sulfate powder is added. After shaking, the liquid changes colorlessly.
