1986年在我国大陆相续发生了32次5级以上中强地震.在地震发生的前后过程中,地震系统有的单位能在震前加强震情监视工作,较准确地预报出中强地震;有的单位在震后能及时、准确地速报并对震后地震活动趋势进行正确的判断;有的单位准确地预报了强余震;有的单位在震后及时奔赴地震现场,积极开展工作.上述工作对稳定社会生产和人民生活秩序起了积极的作用、取得了良好的社会效果,受到当地政府和广大群众的赞赏.
