交城断裂是山西断陷带中部太原盆地西边界的主控断裂,对太原盆地的形成和演化起着十分重要的作用。晚新生代以来,该断裂带活动强烈,构造地貌显著,分段活动性明显。历史上,太原盆地北部的忻定盆地和南部的临汾盆地都发生过M≥7.0级强震(临汾盆地2次,忻定盆地3次),而太原盆地历史上仅记载过29余次中强地震,最大震级6(1/2)级。在历史上,太原盆地究竟有没有发生过M≥7.0级古地震事件?对未来地震的危险性如何评估?是人们所关注和待研究的问题。通过此题地质地貌调查,探槽、剥土工程和断层年代测定等方面的研究,基本搞清了这条长125km断裂带的几何结构、运动性质、
Jiaocheng fault is the dominant fault in the western boundary of Taiyuan basin in central Shanxi depression zone and plays a very important role in the formation and evolution of Taiyuan basin. Since the Late Cenozoic, the fault zone has strong activity, significant tectonic landform and obvious segmental activity. Historically, strong M≥7.0 earthquakes (twice in Linfen basin and 3 times in Xinding basin) occurred in both the Xinding basin in the north of Taiyuan Basin and the Linfen basin in the south of the Taiyuan basin, while only over 29 strong records Earthquake, the largest magnitude 6 (1/2) level. In the history, whether the M≥7.0 paleoearthquakes occurred in the Taiyuan basin? How to evaluate the danger of future earthquakes? It is a problem that people pay attention to and study. Through the study of geology and geomorphology survey, exploration trenches, stripping engineering and dating of faults, we can basically get a clear understanding of the geometry, the nature of motion,
