红楼影视作品,因拍摄地的不同而呈现出不同的地域文化特征。1950年到1978年间,香港成为《红楼梦》电影制作中心。香港《红楼梦》电影寄托着香港电影人对家国故土的眷念,在主题选择上偏爱宝黛爱情悲剧、强化“情僧”的色空内涵、重视红楼“小人物”的爱情,在形式上充分发挥戏曲片(粤曲与黄梅调)的优势,而时装片与情色片的出现则体现了香港开放的商业电影文化特征。香港《红楼梦》电影既有中国红楼影视的共同特征,也具有香港地域文化特色,集中体现了香港电影人的“中国梦”与“红楼情”。
