论文检阅了历史上学者们在不同时期对苹果学名的命名和对现用学名的评议,从而提出建议,主张放弃用Malus pumila Mill.为苹果的学名;保留Malus domestica Borkh.为苹果的学名。中国苹果(绵苹果)与苹果(西洋苹果)相比,在形态学、细胞学、生理学和生态地理分布上都具有明显特点,具备苹果亚种的条件,建议用Malus domestica subsp.chinensis Y.N.Li.为其学名(拉丁文特征的描述刊于山东农业大学学报1994,25(2):363—366。
The essay reviews historians’ naming of apples at different times and their appraisal of the current names of the apples, thereby proposing to abandon the use of Malus pumila Mill. Scientific name for the apple; keep Malus domestica Borkh. Apple’s scientific name. Compared with apple (Western apple), Chinese apple (cotton apple) has obvious characteristics in morphology, cytology, physiology and ecophysiological distribution. It possesses the conditions of apple subspecies. Malus domestica subsp is suggested. chinensis Y. N. Li.
