On September 27, 1942, the Japanese ship “Lisbon Pills” loaded Japanese officers and men and more than 1,800 British prisoners of war from Japan to Japan. The vessel did not have any sign of loading prisoners of war. On October 1, it passed by the U.S. submarine “Perch” when passing through the sea of Dongpo Island, Dinghai County, Zhejiang Province. Instead of rescuing the Japanese army, the Japanese army sealed the door and fired prisoners of war who had saved their lives. However, near the island, Chinese fishermen heard the news of boat initiative rescue, totaling 384 people who had rescued the landing and falling of water and received proper arrangements for the fishing village. Subsequently, the Japanese army on the island to arrest and arrest most of the British prisoners, only Evans and other three escaped by the local residents escorted by the island to the mainland, arrived in Chongqing. To reward the Chinese people for saving the British prisoners of war, the British government has put forward several opinions. China and Britain have conducted effective communication and efforts to this end.
