现在的中学生是跨世纪的一代新人,是祖国的未来和希望。他们的综合素质,包括德(思想、政治、道德品质)、才(才能、才智)、学(学问)、识(见识)、体(体质)如何,攸关着中国的前途与命运。这不是耸人听闻。一位学生家长曾忧心忡忡对我说:“这孩子成绩虽好,但自私自利,玩世不恭,心中只有自己,不会尊重别人,并且经常惹事生非,如不加强思想道德品质教育,将来会犯罪的。一想到这,我浑身就发麻。所以,我现在最大的愿望是希望他先成人,后成才,如果两者只能选其一,我则希望他成人……”这话虽不能概全,但却代表了一部分家长忧虑的心声。作为一名重点中学的普通英语教师,除了理解之外我还能说什么呢?打那以后,我便暗下决心,开始摸索“双向式”教育,即在讲授课文内容的同时,寻机插入德育内容,坚持寓德育于教育之中,收到了既教书又育人的良好效果。

As a general English teacher in a key middle school, what can I say besides understanding? After that, I secretly resolved to start exploring “two-way” education, that is, while teaching the content of the text, I look for opportunities to insert moral education content. We persisted in bringing moral education into education and received good results in both teaching and educating people.
