七十年代初期由法国引进的6G型电力机车于1973年正式投入使用。经过五年的运用(走行50~60万公里),该型机车所用的TAO649C_1型牵引电动机(简称C_1电机)首先在电枢部分陆续发生接地故障。根据1977~1979三年的统计,出现接地及匝间短路的电枢计有119台,其中匝间短路28台。除了在运用中出现接地损坏的以外,还有在架修耐压试验时击穿的,三年合计50台。因此,三年来损坏的电枢有169台。如果再计及1977年以前零星损坏的和1980年头八个月接地损坏的。则电枢损坏的总数将近240台,占全部电枢台数(包括备品)的76%。
