英语是一种交际工具,英语教学的目的就是要培养学生使用这种交际工具的能力,要培养这种能力主要有赖于语言实践。在农村,给学生提供语言实践机会的主要是课堂教学,为了突出交际训练,提高学生学习英语的兴趣,活跃课堂气氛,笔者在课堂教学中尝试了以下几项活动:
一、值日报告
上课开始时,先请当天的值日生向全班简要汇报有关情况,其内容可以是班级这节课的出勤情况、兴趣爱好,也可以是一则幽默笑话、谚语、学习感受等。这种形式让每一位学生都有了开口的机会,而且学生在事先准备的过程中必须查阅资料、与同学进行讨论、筛选内容、朗诵等,这些方面都体现了新课标要求下学生进行互助探究学习的要求。同时,这也帮助学生复习运用了所学知识。此外,值日生报告还能活跃课堂气氛,激发其他同学奋发向上,使之成为培养学生口语表达能力的一种有效途径。
例1:Hello,everybody!My name is ___.I come from ___,and there are 3 members in my family,father,mother and I.I am 12 years old,and my birthday is March the Fourth.I study in ___ School,Class 6 Grade 7.I like little dogs.My favorite sport is playing badminton.I like to eat bananas.My Chinese teacher is Mr Xu,Math teacher is Mr Gong,and my English teacher is Miss Hu.Today is Monday and a nice day.But Li Jun isn’t here,because he is ill.
二、问答表演
《英语课程标准》倡导“任务型”的教学途径,而所谓任务则是学生在用英语与他人交流中培养用英语解决实际问题的能力。因此在课前,笔者会让学生依据课文内容去设计符合自己表演水平的对话、短句等。
例2:九年义务教育七年级(下)Unit 7让学生学会去找物体和人。其中有一位学生设计的短剧不仅贴近生活,而且小组表演得非常精彩。具体如下(M-母亲,P-警察,D-女儿):
M:Oh,my God.Where's my little daughter?Oh,I can't find her (crying).
P:Excuse me,Madam.What's wrong with you?
M:Oh,I…I…I can't find my daughter.
P:Don't worry.I think I can help you.
M:Is it?
P:Yes.
M:Oh,thank you.
P:Could you tell me how old she is?
M:Four.
P:What is she wearing?
M:She's wearing a yellow sweater,black skirt and red shoes.
D:Mum…Mum… I'm Lucy.Where are you?
P:Listen!A girl is shouting.
M:Yes!Oh,it's my daughter.
D:Oh,Mum.I find you at last.
M:Oh,my little Lucy.
P:Madam,please look after your daughter carefully.Don't let her miss.
M:Thank you.I remember.
三、课文复述
课文复述是培养学生口语表达能力行之有效的形式,它是学生在理解、熟悉课文的基础上,用学过的语言材料,按照一定的要求,通过口头把课文内容重新表达出来。当然,课文的体裁、题材以及难易程度各不相同,在教学过程中教师可以使用以下几种复述方法:
1.关键词提示法:适合新词和词组较多的课文,从课文中提取一定数量的关键词或词组来提示学生复述课文梗概。关键词的设置密度可根据课文难度及学生水平而定。
例3:人教版九年级Unit7 Section A。
Next vacation,why not,consider,visit Paris,capital,one of the liveliest cities,fantastic sights,Eiffel Tower,Notre Dame Cathedral,famous churches.
可以这样复述:For your next vacation,why not consider visiting Paris?Paris is the capital of France and one of the liveliest cities in Europe.It doesn’t have any beaches or mountains,but there are still many things to do there.For example,it has some fantastic sights,including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral,one of the most famous churches in the world.
2.看图表述法:利用课文图片、简笔画及教学挂图等梳理课文顺序,进行复述。
例4:人教版七年级下册Unit5 Section B。
Dear Linda,
Thanks for your letter and the photos.Here are some of my photos.In the first photo,I’m playing basketball at school.In the second photo,I’m swimming at the pool.In the next photo,you can see my family at home.We’re eating dinner.In the last photo,I’m with my sister Gina.She’s doing her homework.I’m watching TV.
总之,在具体操作过程中,还需要鼓励学生多说多写、说写并用。因为我们往往在说的时候会出现很多语病,而写的时候结合老师讲的语法规则、语法现象错误率就会降低。凡事贵在坚持,只要能善始善终、坚持不懈,学生的口语表达能力一定能有所提高。
