激光推进是激光技术与航空航天技术同时得到较大发展后,于70年代初提出来的一种全新的推进方式。激光推进可以同时克服化学推进中自然燃烧极限的限制和核能推进中推力/质量比率低的缺点,可以获得约20000N·s/kg的比推力,推力/质量比率为化学推进的典型值。文中报道了激光推进的基本原理与技术、发展概况、主要问题及应用前景等。
Laser propulsion is a new propulsion way put forward by the early 1970s after laser technology and aerospace technology have been greatly developed at the same time. Laser propulsion can simultaneously overcome the limitations of natural combustion in chemical propulsion and the low thrust / mass ratio in nuclear propulsion, giving a specific thrust of about 20,000 N · s / kg, a typical thrust / mass ratio for chemical propulsion.
