This article focuses on the darlings of Toni Morrison, an African-American woman writer, and analyzes the cultural elements contained in the novel’s surface text. The study found that the novel is a metaphorical refraction of the complex ethnic identity, religious beliefs and cultural emotions of African-Americans based on the Bible culture embedded in the text and the African prototype culture. Among them, “Sweet House ” is a parody of the Eden myth, Escape “Sweet House ” and “Exodus” form the thematic alignment, “Ghost ” and “Exorcism ” is Africa Archetypes in the American Context.
