Chairman Mao recently pointed out: “The Book of Water Margin is better than surrendering. It is a negative teaching material that enables the people to know the capitulators.” Song Jiang in Water Margin is a landlord class mixed with the ranks of the Liangshan uprising molecular. He engaged in revisionism and capitulationism. He not only became a moth who disrupted the peasant revolution, but also acted as a dog that suppressed the Fangs uprising in the Joseon Dynasty. Song Jiang, the image of legendary storytelling and drama stage, evolved into the “Water Margin” in the typical surrender, has undergone a long process. In connection with this major issue of evolution, it is helpful to analyze why Water Margin shapes Song Jiang in such a way as to expose the substance of “Water Margin” propaganda of the capitulationist line, enhance our ability to identify the capitulators and raise awareness of anti-revisionism and anti-revisionism.
