与金圣叹密切相关的室名斋号有两个:唱经堂与贯华堂。唱经堂是其室号无疑,关于贯华堂的主人,一向有两种说法。清初廖燕云圣叹“所居贯华堂”之说,影响较大,现代陈登原、邓之诚则以其自有唱经堂而友人韩住号贯华来否定此说。当代徐朔方据金法筵“贯华堂畔长青苔”诗句,认为廖燕观点“无可怀疑”。以往对于贯华堂主人归属的讨论,主要是据圣叹号唱经和韩住号贯华立论,在逻辑上存在着不周密处,因为圣叹是可以既有“唱经堂”又有“贯华堂”的,同样韩住号“贯华”不一定斋号就是“贯华堂”。实际上从圣叹及其友人、家人的叙述中,可见贯华堂非属其家所有;金昌编辑《才子书汇稿》而将“贯华堂”、“唱经堂”并存,亦流露出前者当为刊刻者堂号的一丝消息。
