《画语录》在清代的绘画中是最重要的美学著作,它的理论性和系统性都比较强。“道”和“一画论”是石涛美学体系的核心,它强调画中意、笔、墨的高度统一,物与我,我与画的浑然一体,与中国古典哲学的天人合一精神相一致。这是中国绘画的精髓,也是中国绘画与西方绘画最本质的不同。研究画语录的丰富内涵,对于全面把握石涛的美学思想是极其重要的。
