China’s porcelain in the world was once a dazzling pearl, and even porcelain as a synonym for China, once sought after by the European aristocracy. Contemporary Chinese porcelain is no longer as shiny as the Song, Ming and Qing dynasties. Japanese porcelain, which is most affected by Chinese porcelain, often enters the international high-end fields, making us have to reflect on the decline of Chinese porcelain brands and analyze the reasons behind them. This paper starts from the example of Geyao porcelain in Song Dynasty, analyzes and probes into the traditional Chinese thought and culture, and analyzes and probes into the dual perspectives of “things” and “love”. It is hoped that this paper can give some enlightenment to the design and development of Chinese porcelain.
