The advanced noise figure meter with y-factor method measures gain and noise figure simultaneously and automatically corrects for second-order effects. This requires that the two-port output be matched. Non-matching devices require an output adapter. This article presents a theoretical error calculation of a measuring device without a dispenser and only an isolator in front of the second stage. The error expression of the two-port display noise figure and display gain is deduced. When the two-port output return loss is 10dB and the input return loss of the isolator is 15dB, the introduced gain error is 0.14dB and the noise figure error is 0.05dB.
