For locally advanced rectal cancer, preoperative chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy can shrink the tumor and is beneficial for subsequent surgery. The toxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs often limits their use. Previous rat experimental studies have found that 5-FU anal suppository has a significantly lower toxicity compared to intravenous administration, while rectal and axillary lymph nodes have high drug concentrations. This study compared the absorption of mitomycin C and 5-FU anal suppository administration and evaluated its toxicity in combination with radiotherapy.
