To analyze waterborne contaminants in the pipeline, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has improved its major pollutants by revising the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and improving the choice of gas or liquid chromatographic methods (GC or LC) Analytical methods, the EPA described these new approaches in the federal government’s registry, but merely confirm the analytical tools for monitoring major pollutants in wastewater. These methods will be required when evaluating wastewater and applying for a National Pollution Discharge Management System (NPDES) permit. Inconsistent with these methods requires EPA’s prior approval.
