Many countries have proposed dwarfing-type breeding in pear breeding programs aims. According to the results of world opinion polls, pears’ breeding needs to be dwarfed as the focus of improvement: 59% in the Northeast, 61% in the Northwest, and 75% in Europe and other countries.
