Atonement is the ninth novel by Ian McEwan. The main character in this novel is Brioni. This article starts with Freud ’s psychoanalytic theory and analyzes Brioni’ s crime, atonement and her writing psychology. In textual analysis of Atonement, this article uses Freudian personality theory as a support to explore Brillian’s fierce psychological struggle when Falin falsely identifies Robbie, and Brioni’s behavior is her The result of the interaction between the self and the ego and the super ego; and the creative activities of Brioni and “The Tribulation of Arabella” by using the theories of the writers and daydreams.
