激进主义与保守主义的辩证与融通

五四是一场具有划时代意义的新文化运动和思想解放运动,人们研究五四时也多采取思想史、文化史或者文学史的视野。这种研究倾向与五四自身的历史风貌和复杂性质有着必然的联系,也是毫无疑问的富有价值的研究理路。但一个不可否认的事实是,迄今为止90年的五四研究始终存在着一系列难以解决的悖论,在五四评价和反思中许多矛盾重重的说法也一直困扰着人们。这一方面与历史上“五四”内涵的丰富性有关,另一方面还与时代进程中的需要相互勾连。这似乎说明,我们需要改变思路,尝试进入五四研究的某些新的路径,即“五四”研究需要突围。为此,我们特邀了几位在五四研究领域造诣丰厚的学者撰文,尝试从学术史的视野为将来的五四研究打通历史、当下与未来做一点必要的铺陈,以避免就思想谈思想以及纠缠于表面问题的局限性。在跨学科、跨文化语境下关注五四研究,透视其诸多观点形成的内在逻辑、种种纷争背后的精神动因、诸多学案和矛盾双方掩盖的共同理路、彼此冲突的观点背后的同一价值等,只有这样才能真正深入理解五四,才谈得上整合而不是分解历史,也才能凸显五四的意义或者局限。基于此,五四自身的复杂性,尤其是众说纷纭与观点纠结之中的假象也就在一定程度上被剔除掉,从而有利于学界更为清晰地勘探思想现象背后的学术骨架,正所谓“辨章学术,考镜源流,观水于澜,心知其意”。由此亦可彰显学术史较之思想史、文化史的优越性和考察力度,进而取得更大的学术价值。 The May 4th Movement is a landmark new-culture movement and an ideological liberation movement. People have also taken more horizons in the history of thought, culture or literature during the May Fourth Movement. There is a necessary connection between this research tendency and the May 4 own historical style and complex nature, and there is no doubt that it is a valuable research approach. However, it is an undeniable fact that there has always been a series of unmanageable paradoxes in the May Fourth Movement so far. In the May Fourth Movement many conflicting claims have plagued people. On the one hand, it is related to the richness of the connotation of “May Fourth” in history and on the other hand, it is also linked to the needs in the process of the times. This seems to suggest that we need to change our mindset and try to enter into some new approaches to the May Fourth Movement study, that is, the “May Fourth” study needs to break through. To this end, we invited several scholars with rich academic achievements in the field of May 4 research. We tried to make the necessary breakthroughs in history from the perspective of academic history for the May Fourth Movement study to the present and in the future so as to avoid thinking or thinking about ideology As well as the limitations of entanglement on the surface. In the context of interdisciplinary and interculturalism, it is concerned with the May Fourth Movement study, the internal logic of forming many of its perspectives, the spiritual motivation behind various disputes, the common sense concealed by many academic and contradictions, the same value behind conflicting views, and so on Only in this way can we truly understand the May Fourth Movement before we can talk about integration instead of breaking down history, so as to highlight the significance or limitations of the May Fourth Movement. Based on this, the May 4 own complexities, especially those with different opinions and perspectives, are also removed to a certain extent, which helps the academic circles to more clearly explore the academic framework behind ideological phenomena.
