闪电引起损伤相当常见,但导致耳部损伤的报道却很少。作者们曾见到两个女性病例:甲20岁,乙48岁,居住相距数百米。于15小时前大雷雨时,正互相打电话中被雷击倒在地,但未失去知觉,创伤后两人都有单侧耳鸣及听力减退。检查见患者甲左耳鼓膜有两个小穿孔,患者乙右侧鼓膜次全穿孔,外耳道或残余鼓膜均无烧伤迹象,无自发性眼震或面神经麻痹,电测听均有很轻的传导性聋,表明听骨链完整。两患者颈及肩部皮肤都有梭形雷击烧伤。伤后20小时将残破鼓膜予以 Lightning damage is quite common, but reports of ear damage are rare.
