1基本情况荥阳市位于河南省北中部,东与郑州市郊区相邻,两与巩义市接壤,南与新密市毗连,北邻黄河;处于豫西丘陵向豫东平原的过渡地带,地跨黄、淮两大流域。全市总面积908km~2,其中淮河流域占44．38%,黄河流域占55．62%,境内有索河、贾峪河、须水河、汜水河、枯河5条河流。全市辖14个乡(镇),2个街道办事处,总人口61．6万人,其中农业人口51．1万人。耕地面积4．75
1 Basic conditions Leiyang City is located in the north central part of Henan Province, adjacent to the suburbs of Zhengzhou City in the east, bordering with Gongyi City in the east, Xinmi City in the south and the Yellow River to the north; in the transitional zone from hills to the east of Henan Province in the west of Henan Province, Huang, Huai two major drainage areas. The total area of the city is 908km ~ 2, of which, the Huaihe River Basin accounts for 44.38% and the Yellow River Basin accounts for 55.62%. There are 5 rivers, Suo River, Jiayu River, Xu River, Huang River and Wu River. The city administer 14 townships (towns), 2 street offices, the total population of 616,000 people, of which agricultural population of 511,000 people. Cultivated area 4.75
