编史修志,是一项惠及后人的工作。惠及什么呢?我想从根本方面看,就是能通过前人(包括今天的编史修志者)留下的史志,使后人明是非之始末,知成败之因由；弃糟粕,惕戒以往之遗臭；益人智,继承历史之精萃。所以对编史修志者的基本要求就是：要有良史之德,编史之才,人要正直,文要真实。不能离开当时社会的实况,要烙有它所属那个时代的鲜明而独特的印记。要客观真实,按照事物的本来面目去写。写人,称美不能过其善,进恶不能没其罪；写事,不能无事生非,见端倪而不看结果,见现象而不见本质。无论写人写事,都不能以自己之好恶,去好其所好,恶其所恶。我们读史志,衡量其成功与失败的根本标准,就是真伪。 History Chi Chi, is a work to benefit future generations.
