According to the latest report by the United States on the “Health Day” website, Dr Jeanne Pint, a nasal disease specialist at the University of Chicago in the United States, found that the risk of premature death of elderly people with dysfunctional olfactory functions increases. The researchers selected 3,005 older people between the ages of 57 and 85, asking them to distinguish between five different scents: roses, oranges, mint, leather and fish. Statistics show that: 78% of the participants at least correctly named one of the four kinds of smell, smell function is normal; 20% of participants can only identify 2-3 kinds of gas
