我和太太蔡小丽都喜欢集邮,在国内收集国内的邮票,到了国外还买国内的邮票,同时也买一些清朝的明信片。碰到什么大的邮展的时候,蔡小丽常常不允许我买太多,因为每一张明信片都很贵,尤其是清朝的,常常信用卡花超了下个月没有钱还。所以再买明信片我就带着她一块儿去,反正她对钱没概念,常常比我买得更多。这样钱花超了至少不用埋怨我。在英国做艺术家是要东奔西走的,所谓东奔西走是因为一个城市实际是养活不了一个艺术家的,所以就要到处去办展览。这么多年下来我们也说不清楚在全世界办了多少个展览,一年到头在欧洲、亚洲、北美跑来跑去。每到一个地方开画展,一般开幕式完了画家就没事了,我们就有时间去逛逛邮票店、当地的古董店或是拍卖行,看看能不能找到什么好看的明信片。 Cai Xiaoli, my wife and I both like stamp collecting, collecting domestic stamps at home, buying stamps abroad at home, and buying some postcards from the Qing Dynasty.
