The “Four-Effects” is a collection of prescriptions for clinical syndromes (including internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology, and four major types) of the common diseases. It was the works of Wang Shixiong, a famous doctor from Zhejiang Province in the Qing Dynasty (written in 1854). After the book was compiled, it was not published at the time and a copy was made by his friend Wang Xie Chengshi. During the Tongzhi years, Wang Shixiong died. His collections of books and manuscripts were scattered around the world. The manuscripts of the “Four Essentials of Simple Efficacy” were purchased by Tian Xing Village. After seeing the manuscript and his party’s selection, Huei Hsueh-sook said: “Square was selected and reviewed, and Jane was able to prepare.” Afterwards, he received the Wang’s handwritten school book and published it in the 11th year of Guangxu (1885). Later, they were included in the “14 kinds of Zhaizhai medical books,” and Fu was included in the “Xuezai Zhai series” (11th to 14th volumes).
