鸡首壶,又名天鸡壶,因壶嘴作鸡首状而得名。这种瓷器出现于三国时期,其前身是盘口双系壶,是西晋至唐初流行的一种瓷壶。尤其在东晋时期,鸡首壶成为我国南方普遍使用的一种酒具。因“鸡”与“吉”谐音,鸡首壶延续使用了数百年,反映出在六朝那段战乱频繁的年代里,人们对吉祥安宁生活的祈望。福建地区六朝时期考古发现的瓷器中,鸡首壶也是常见的
