通用英语与学术英语的定位争论是新一轮大学英语教学改革的核心问题,其包括以下方面:通用英语与学术英语的界定;对通用英语教学目的的不同理解;大学阶段前两年学生是否具备学习学术英语的能力。通用英语教学是从高中应试教育到大学英语教学的一个必经过程,是学生了解英语国家人的思维方式的起步阶段,然后再逐步上升到更抽象、更复杂的学术英语认知层次。大学英语教学应以提高教学质量、为学生创造更好的学习环境、调动学生的积极性作为前提条件。
The controversy between general English and academic English is the core issue of the new round of college English teaching reform.
