浑河—密山断裂带是一条深切岩石圈的深断裂,对两侧沉积建造、地质构造、地质发展史起着控制作用。断裂带具有多期活动的特点,吕梁运动形成断裂带后,在海西期、燕山期及喜山期均有强烈活动。断裂带活动方式,在不同地质时期有不同表现。前寒武纪时期断裂带以挤压作用为主,并且在晚前寒武纪后期具有左旋平移的性质。早古生代时期以挤压和剪切作用为主,具有右旋平移的特点。晚侏罗纪时期以左行压扭为主,白垩纪时期以张性活动为主,第三纪以来为压扭并显示有右行扭动。挽近地质时期断裂带附近有些浅震与深震,所以它又是一条活动性断层。因此,它不是一个单一性质的断裂带,用单一的平行或裂谷观点无法解释该断裂带的复杂现象。
The Hunhe-Mishan fault zone is a deep fault of deep lithosphere, which plays a controlling role in sedimentary construction, geological structure and geological development on both sides. The fault zone has the characteristics of multi-period activities. After the Lvliang movement formed the fault zone, there was strong activity in Hercynian, Yanshan and Himalayan periods. Fault zone activity, in different geological periods have different manifestations. The Precambrian faulted zone is dominated by extrusion and has left-lateral translation in the late Precambrian period. During the Early Paleozoic, the main features of extrusion and shearing are the right-handed translation. The Late Jurassic period was mainly left-lateral compression. The Cretaceous period was mainly dominated by zigzag activity. Since the Tertiary period, it has been twisted and showed right-handed twisting. There are some shallow and deep earthquakes near the fault zone in the recent geological period, so it is an active fault again. Therefore, it is not a single fault zone, which can not be explained by a single parallel or rift view.
