滚动报道(西方有人称之为“running stories”)是连续报道的一种,它要求记者在短时间内对某一事件、特别是突发事件的追踪报道。这种报道要求记者追踪重要事件或引人注目事件的进展,不断把随时出现的新情况或围绕新闻事件不断挖掘到的新信息传递给受众。 一般情况下,记者要等新闻事件结束才写消息,而滚动报道则要求记者及时地对新得到的情况加以报道。滚动报道对于能够在短时间内不断重复播发的电子媒体(如电视、广播和网络)来讲更加适
Rolling reports (what some people in the West call “running stories”) are a continuous story that requires journalists to track and report an incident, especially an emergency, in a short period of time. Such reports require journalists to track the progress of important or compelling events and to keep the audience informed of new and emerging situations or new information constantly evolving around news events. In general, journalists have to wait until the end of a news event to write a message, while rolling reports require journalists to report the new situation in a timely manner. Rolling reports are more appropriate for electronic media that can be broadcast on short notice, such as television, radio, and the Internet
